Venues and Groups

Venues can be set up for every customer location. You can have multiple venues for each customer to ensure you capture and analyze the correct data for each individual venue.

Within ManagementVenues you can add new venues and groups and edit existing venues. You can also update venue settings and add webhooks.

Access levels determine what can be seen by users. The four tiers of access permissions are: Reseller; Company; Group, and Venue. Click here for more information on user access levels. 

Please note: If using US English, the 'Venues' tab will be called 'Locations'.

Add Venue

  1. Within ManagementVenues > Venues and Groups, select the customer you want to add the venue to.

  2. Click the ellipsis and select Add venue.

  3. Choose to either use the standard set up or the wizard, the wizard guides you through the set up process. The standard set up opens the Venue Details, once the details are complete, click Add Venue. Once the venue is set up, you can add your hardware and social media access methods.

New Venue wizard

The new Venue wizard takes you through all the steps you need to complete to add a venue.

  1. Within ManagementVenues > Venues and Groups, select the customer you want to add the venue to.

  2. Click the ellipsis , select Add venue and click Yes, use wizard.

  3. Enter the Venue details and click Next.

  4. Click Next again.

  5. To add the hardware for the venue, click Yes, configure now. Alternatively, if you want to add the hardware later, click No, later.

  6. Choose the Router type from the drop-down list and then add the MAC address. For more information about how to configure the hardware, you can download or view the instructions online. Click Next.

  7. If you want to add more hardware, click Add more hardware, if not, click Next.

  8. The venue is set up, if you want to add another venue, click Yes or to close the wizard, click No.

Editing a Company, Venue, or Group

Selecting the ellipsis provides the option to edit each respective type. 

If you need to move a Group or Venue, it can be safer to use the Edit page rather than drag and drop functionality. If using drag and drop, please double check that you have moved the item to the intended position.

From the edit page, you can set the 'Parent Group' of the element you are editing:

 

Venue Name

Name of the venue.

Display Name

Optional display name for your venue list.

Group

Choose a group to add the venue to, your company is selected by default.

Industry Sector

Choose the industry sector from a pre-defined list.

Address

Address details of the venue.

Telephone

Telephone number of the venue.

Email

Email address of the venue.

Timezone

Choose a timezone from a pre-defined list.

VAT/EU Number

Enter a VAT registration or EU number.

External Identifier

A unique ID for the venue.

Geo Location

Moving

Use the slider to indicate if the venue is moving or static.

Location Type

Choose a type of location from a pre-defined list.

Latitude

The co-ordinates of the venue.

Longitude

Tags

You can add tags to a venue and filter on those tags when running reports, this may be useful if you want to group similar venues together or see reports on venues that are running the same promotions. Tags are lowercase and must not contain spaces but you can use dashes.

Analytics Settings

These settings affect the number of devices seen at your venues based on dwell time within the presence reports.

Bounce Time

The number of minutes a device must have dwelled for to be seen at your venue.

Not Engaged Threshold

The number of minutes a device may have dwelled for but is not considered to be engaging with the venue.

Fully Engaged Threshold

The number of minutes a device may have dwelled for to be considered as engaging with the venue.

Coefficient

A value to multiply presence graph values by to show a real world reflection of visitors.

Data reset time

The time you want your occupancy data to reset to zero, this helps to ensure the data is synchronized and resets any discrepancies.

Add Group

  1. Within ManagementVenues > Venues and Groups, select the customer you want to add the group to.

  2. Click the ellipsis and select Add group.

  3. Once you have added all of the required information click Add group. For more information about the Group fields, see Group Details.

Parent Group

Your company is selected by default, choose a different parent group, if required.

Group Type

Choose Standard group or Depot.

Group Name

Name of the group.

Address

Address details of the group.

Telephone

Telephone number of the group.

VAT/EU Number

Enter a VAT registration or EU number.

Geo Location

Latitude

The co-ordinates of the venue.
