SMS Verification

  • Updated

The registration form, available as a login method when creating splash pages, can be simplified to include only a mandatory phone number.

An email address or phone number needs to be enabled for the registration form to be used as a login method. Other methods are also available, including social media authentication.

A valid connector is required to enable phone numbers to be used as a registration method. Applicable connectors include:

Set up SMS Verification

From the company or venue level, navigate through Onboarding > Access Journeys from the lefthand sidebar, then select Options.

Toggle 'Verify identity via SMS' on:

This will require visitors to enter a valid mobile number. They will receive a 4 digit code that should be entered on the splash page which will allow them to continue through the access journey. To use this functionality, one of the above connectors first needs set up.

To reduce the registration form to just the mobile number field:

    1. Click OnboardingSplash pages and select the required splash page.

    2. Click the edit button on Form to open the Form Settings:

  1. Ensure Mobile No. is enabled and all other fields are disabled:

  2. Click Save. To save the splash page, click Save again. You must ensure this splash page is part of an Access journey.

Visitor journey

When a visitor connects to the WiFi using the form login for the first time, a screen will display which prompts them to add their mobile number:

If they already have an account, they should select 'Sign in now' and the following screen will display:

They are then sent a four digit code to the provided phone number:

The user will then be redirected to the Online splash page URL.

With the visitor clicking the link, we are provided with proof that the phone number is genuine. This will display in the CRM:

Otherwise, in the CRM the phone number will display as unknown or unverified.
