Device Web Management Interface

  • Updated

Information including how to restore the router's factory firmware is included below.

Device Configuration via Web Based Interface

Once you have successfully flashed your device, the manufacturer’s web interface will no longer be accessible. Instead, we have developed a custom web interface which you can log in to.

NOTE: You are not required to log in to this interface unless instructed to by support.

The web interface allows you to:

  • Perform diagnostics to check the device can connect to the Internet and talk to our service
  • Restore the device back to factory firmware

To access the web interface, first ensure you have an Ethernet cable plugged in to port 1, 2 or 3 on the back of the device*. Your PC should pick up an IP address in the range of 172.16.25.xx. You can now gain access to the web interface by visiting http://172.16.25.25 in your web browser.

You will be prompted for a username and password, which can be found below:

  • Username: setup
  • Password: *available from your portal under Hardware > Config*

* If you have a device that only has one Ethernet port (which by default is the Internet / WAN port), you can still connect to the web interface through a pre-configured wireless network called “Setup”. Open the wireless network screen on your PC and you should see an SSID called “Setup”. You will need the wireless key, which is available from your support team.

Status Page

Once logged in you will be presented with a status page:

This status page will check to see that everything is contactable from your Internet connection and can be useful to determine the source of a problem if you are having issues with the service. In case of a problem, the green tick icon will change to a red or amber warning icon, like so:

Here you can see that there is a DNS problem and therefore problems will be apparent when using the service.

Restore Factory Firmware

If you need to put the factory firmware back on to your device for any reason you can do so via this page. You will see a link on the page to download the original firmware which you need to use.

Important: Only use the firmware provided in the link on this page. Do not download the firmware from your manufacturer’s site as it will not be compatible with the custom firmware that is now present on your device. The original firmware link we provide is still the original firmware but with a slight modification to allow it to be restored successfully.

Once you have downloaded the firmware via the provided link, click the Browse button and select the file you just downloaded.

Click Continue and you will be provided with a confirmation page once the firmware has been validated:

Click Flash Firmware to confirm. The following page will be presented:

The device will now take around 5 minutes to revert back to the original firmware. Once this completes you should be able to connect to the default web interface like when you first purchased the device .
