This article helps you manage your digital Purple WiFi Passes, adjust your profile settings, and find answers to the questions our support team is asked most often.
Managing your passes
Tap the Passes tab at the bottom of your screen to see your active Purple WiFi Passes. A Pass is a digital keycard for your phone - it talks directly to our partner routers to get you online without passwords or login pages.
Your profile features
Tap the Profile button in the bottom right of your screen. This is your control panel for everything related to your Purple account.
Quick help and FAQ
Answers to the questions we get most often.
- No. The Purple App uses your phone's built-in background features to look for networks. We don't track your location with continuous GPS, so battery use is minimal.
- Yes, this is normal. Apple pauses the setup for security until you confirm the install. To finish, open your iPhone's Settings app, tap the Profile Downloaded message at the top, then tap Install.
- No. The digital keys Purple adds sit alongside your existing networks in your phone's WiFi settings. Your home WiFi, personal hotspots and other saved networks continue to work exactly as before.
- Go to Profile > Edit Profile > Delete Account. Your Purple account is removed from the app right away. Our backups and audit records are purged within the timeframe set out in our privacy policy.
- Your organisation may not yet be a Purple partner. You can still use the Purple App with a personal account and connect to public partner venues. Ask your IT team if they plan to enable Purple, or tap Leave Feedback to let us know.
- Only when you first set up your account, download Purple's offline maps, or load the map view with no offline data cached. Once your Purple WiFi Pass is installed and you have downloaded the maps you need, the app can find and connect to networks without using mobile data.
