1.1 Visitor interaction report (VIR)
The new visitor interaction report gives users an insight into visitor interaction within their venues combining metrics from multiple reports. The metrics include:
Average visit duration
The number of new visitors
The number of repeat visitors
The number of 'authenticated' visitors
The number of potential visits and visitors (pre conversion)
The number of visits and visitors (post conversion)
Conversion rates
Engagement rates
The number of missed visits and visitors
The report is presented to the user as an infographic indicating drop off and engagement rates through conversion. There are 2 variations of the report, the 'authenticated' version and the 'combined' version.
1.2 New menu item for the report
A new menu item of 'Visitor interaction' has been added to the analytics menu within the 'Behaviours' section:
When clicking on the link the user will be redirected to either the 'authenticated' or 'combined' version of the report based on their licenses in scope. By default the link will open the 'authenticated' version of the report. Users with presence licenses will receive the 'combined' version of the report when clicking the link.
1.3 'Authenticated' Visitor interaction report
The 'authenticated' variation of the report restricts the report data to the 'authenticated' data source only (visitor data where users successfully 'authenticated' on to the WiFi network):
Due to the restrictions on license the 'authenticated' version of the report does not provide the user with conversion and missed visit metrics. The user will see an informational placeholder where this data would be. When hovering over the placeholders the user will see a license 'upsell' message prompting them to purchase a presence license to view this data:
1.3.1 Tooltips
Each metric presented to the user features a tooltip explaining what the metric indicates. This is accessible when the user hovers over each metric value:
1.3.2 Engagement values
As with the existing Engagement report and Engagement dimension selector option the report uses the default Engagement values defined by the application or custom Engagement values for the report scope if they have been defined by the user. The values applied to the report are indicated to the user underneath each Engagement metric e.g. '< 3 mins':
1.3.3 Available reporting periods and visualisation options
All standard reporting period options are available to the 'authenticated' and 'combined' reports allowing users to view the report data for a specific date period or for all time.
Due to the infographic report display the report cannot be grouped by 'time' or 'category' and these options that are available on 'chart' based reports are disabled on the VIR.
1.3.4 Additional formats and options
The user is able to perform the following actions with the report:
1. Add to my reports
2. Download as PDF and CSV
The VIR report cannot be added to a dashboard and this option is intentionally disabled.
1.3.5 Report filters
The current standard set of 'Visitor' based filters are available upon the 'authenticated' version of the report with the exception of 'Engagement' and 'Bounce' filters:
1.4 'Combined' Visitor interaction report
The 'combined' version of the report is enhanced with presence data and the user receives additional information including:
Potential visit and visitor numbers
Conversion rate
Missed visits and visitors
Metrics and values seen in the 'combined' report are calculated from both 'authenticated' and 'unauthenticated' data:
1.4.1 Report filters
The 'combined' variation of the report excludes the standard authenticated visitor data filters where we obtain data from 'authenticated' user sessions. The 'combined' filter set is limited to scope based filters only in the following filter categories:
1. Venue
2. Venue > Sector
3. Hardware
As with the 'authenticated' variation of the report the 'combined' also disables 'Engagement' and 'Bounce' filters.
1.4.2 Switching between the 'combined' and 'authenticated' versions of the report
Users on the presence license have access to both variations of the report. The user can switch between variations by using the 'report switcher' at the top right of the user interface.
