Wayfinding Data

Wayfinding Data within the Wayfinding Admin Tool, includes your wayfinding destinations which display to your visitors to help them navigate your campus. You can add, edit or delete these points within Data management > Wayfinding Data.

The Destination Type drop-down shows the menus that comprises your data menu structure for your wayfinding application.

Add Data

  1. Choose the menu for the data you want to add.

  2. Select the plus sign next to the menu item.

  3. Enter the details you want to display for your new location as follows:

    Unique Name

    A unique indicator for the destination, this does not display to the end user.

    Language

    This is a mandatory field. Enter the required language, if you have additional languages you must duplicate the data and assign the correct language.

    Tags

    Alternate search terms, you must comma separate the listings.

    Location

    Destination name that shows in the first column for your users.

    Floor

    Complete as needed, not all columns are shown to the end user, refer to your web application or kiosk to check which columns are visible.

  4. Select which applications you want the data to appear in from Kiosk, Web, QR or Mobile.

  5. If you want to enter a location with an address and no quicklinks association, choose Data Only, otherwise choose Show On Map.

  6. Identify where the location is on the map, select a floor from the drop-down and choose a destination drop off point (quicklink) near the new location.

    If a quicklink does not exist, contact your Purple account manager to add one.

  7. To save the new destination, click Save.

  8. To publish the destination, click Publish.

Edit Data

  1. From the Wayfinding Data menu, select the menu your destination data is within.

  2. Click the edit button next to the data you want to edit:

  3. Edit the fields as required, to move the location, select another destination point on the map.

  4. To save your changes, click Save.

  5. To publish the changes, click Publish.

Delete Data

  1. From the Wayfinding Data menu, select the menu your destination data is within.

  2. Click the edit button next to the data you want to edit and then click Delete

  3. To publish the changes, click Publish.
