Configure BLE on Xirrus Wireless APs

  • Updated

To configure Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) on Xirrus Wireless Access Points (APs), you need to access the AP's web-based management interface. The steps involved include:

1. Ensure that your computer or device is connected to the Xirrus AP either via an Ethernet cable or wirelessly.

2. Find out the IP address of the Xirrus AP you want to configure. You can usually check the AP's documentation or use a network scanning tool to identify its IP address.

3. Open a web browser and enter the AP's IP address in the address bar. Press Enter to navigate to the management interface login page.

4. Enter the appropriate login credentials (username and password) to access the AP's management interface. If you don't have the login details, consult the AP's documentation or contact the network administrator.

5. Once logged in, navigate to the appropriate menu or section within the management interface to access the AP's Bluetooth settings. The exact location may vary depending on the Xirrus AP model and firmware version.

6. Look for an option to enable or activate BLE functionality on the AP. This setting is typically found in the wireless or radio settings section. Enable the option and save the changes.

7. Depending on the AP model and firmware, you may have additional options to configure BLE parameters such as advertising interval, transmit power, or security settings. Adjust these settings as per your requirements.

8. After making any necessary configurations, save the changes and apply them to the Xirrus AP.

9. Verify that the BLE feature is working as intended. You can do this by using a BLE-enabled device to scan for and connect to the Xirrus AP's Bluetooth signal.

Note that the specific steps and options may differ based on the Xirrus AP model and firmware version you are using. It's recommended to consult the Xirrus AP documentation or contact Xirrus support for detailed instructions specific to your equipment.
